A kitchen with navy cabinets, brass hardware, a quartzite waterfall island, and linen pendants in evening light

Kitchen remodeling

From a cabinet-and-countertop replacement to moving the room and the services that feed it.

Kitchens are the most disruptive room in a house to lose, so the two questions worth settling first are how long it will be out and what is actually driving the cost — the finishes, or moving the plumbing and gas.

We price those separately in the estimate so you can see which decisions are expensive and which are simply preference.

Typical scope

  • Cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, and hardware
  • Appliance fit and the services behind them
  • Relocating sinks, gas and appliance runs where the layout changes
  • Electrical, including added circuits, lighting, and outlets to code
  • Flooring and trim
  • Removing a wall to open the kitchen to living space

Common questions

Can the kitchen move to a different part of the house?

Yes, and the services move with it. Sinks, gas, and appliance runs are relocated where the layout changes, rather than the layout being bent around where the pipes happen to be.

Can you open the kitchen into the living space?

Removing the wall between them is common scope here. Where that wall is carrying load, the structural design is settled and priced before anything comes out.

Will the electrical be brought up to standard?

Yes. Added circuits, lighting, and outlets are installed to code as part of the work, which a modern kitchen full of appliances generally needs whether or not it was planned for.
